Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the executive committee which jointly supervises the activities of the ICMSF and assesses the overall direction and strategy of the Commission. The Board play a supervisory role, overseeing the Commission’s activities and assessing performance.

The powers, duties, and responsibilities of the Board are specified in the ICMSF’s by-laws. These by-laws specify the number of members of the board, how they are to be chosen, and how often they are to meet.

The offices of the Commission have the following duties and powers associated with their positions:

Chair
The Chair is the chief executive officer of the Commission and is responsible for implementing the strategic plans and policies of the Commission.

Secretary
The Secretary attends and is the Secretary of all meetings of the Board, members and committees of the Board.

Treasurer
The Treasurer has such powers and duties as the Board specifies, including providing notices to the public accountant and maintaining financial records, with copies being given to the Secretary.

Executive Director
An Executive Director may be part of the Board of Directors to support the activities of the ICMSF in a particular role for a specific time period.
