Marcel Zwietering honoured for distinguished contribution to Predictive Modelling in Food

During the 13th International Conference on Predictive Modelling in Food (ICPMF), held in Athens from 1 to 3 September 2025, Professor Marcel Zwietering and Professor József Baranyi were both presented with an ICPMF Award in recognition of their distinguished and pioneering scientific contributions to the field of Predictive Modelling in Food.
The Award Committee noted that “their pioneering work has shaped the way we understand, predict, and ensure food safety, setting the standard for future innovation in the field”.
In Prof. Zwietering’s absence, his PhD student George Pampoukis accepted the award on his behalf. The award was presented by Prof. George Nychas, Chair of the 13th ICPMF meeting.
