ICMSF Annual Meeting 2026

4 to 14 June 2026, Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal

Following the 2026 Food Safety Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa (2–3 June), hosted by Dr Lucia Anelich, ICMSF convened its 59th Annual Meeting in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. This meeting forms part of the organisation’s ongoing programme of scientific collaboration and global engagement in food safety.

Discussions focused on progress related to Book 9, the development of position papers, and other key ICMSF activities aimed at strengthening the scientific foundations of microbiological food safety management.

For more than 60 years, ICMSF has contributed to the development and communication of scientific concepts that help reduce the incidence of foodborne illness and improve food suitability worldwide.

ICMSF extends its sincere appreciation to the principal sponsors of the South African activities, Mérieux NutriSciences USA and Tiger Brands South Africa, for their valuable support in enabling the successful convening of these engagements.

The ICMSF looks forward to continuing its collaborative work to advance global food safety science and practice.
