Dr Francisco Garcés-Vega is an independent food safety consultant based in Cali Colombia. He got a bachelor’s degree in Agro-Industrial Production Engineering from Universidad de La Sabana (Bogotá, Colombia) and has a PhD in Biosystems Engineering form Michigan State University (East Lansing, MI). Francisco has been active as researcher, consultant for local and foreign institutions, and as lecturing professor in topics related to microbial food safety. He is also an active member of the Latin American Sub-Commission of ICMSF, the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP), and the Colombian Association of Food Science and Technology (ACTA).
