2026 Food Safety Summit to convene global experts in Johannesburg
1 May 2026
The 2026 Food Safety Summit will take place from 2 to 3 June 2026 at the Emperors Palace Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Held annually in alignment with World Food Safety Day, the Summit serves as a key platform for advancing dialogue on food safety across science, policy, and industry practice.
Bringing together leading voices from across the food sector, the Summit attracts industry thought leaders, regulatory stakeholders, academics, and professionals from across the food value chain. The event is designed to promote collaboration and the exchange of knowledge, supporting a shared commitment to improving food safety outcomes both locally and globally.
The 2026 programme will feature a comprehensive two-day series of sessions addressing key trends, emerging risks, and critical challenges facing the food and beverage industry. Topics are expected to reflect both global developments and region-specific concerns, providing a balanced perspective that combines international expertise with local insight. Sessions are led by recognised experts and aim to deliver practical, science-based approaches to strengthening food safety systems.
The Summit is hosted by Anelich Consulting, a leader in science-based food safety solutions, and continues to build on its reputation as a high-level forum for discussion, innovation, and professional engagement in the field.
Several members of the ICMSF will contribute to the programme, sharing their expertise on critical topics. In addition, ICMSF will host a dedicated mini-workshop on Process Control and Microbiological Sampling, offering attendees further opportunity to engage with current best practices and methodologies.
Following the Summit, ICMSF members will convene in Durban for their annual meeting, continuing their work on advancing global food safety standards and scientific guidance.
The Food Safety Summit 2026 offers a valuable opportunity for professionals to engage with cutting-edge research, exchange ideas with peers, and contribute to shaping the future of food safety in South Africa and beyond.
