Leadership change at the Latin American Subcommission

The ICMSF Board wishes to express its sincere gratitude to Dr Bernadette Franco for her outstanding contributions to the commission, both as a member and consultant, and for her exemplary leadership of the ICMSF’s Latin American Subcommission (LAS). Under her guidance, LAS-ICMSF has made significant contributions to the commission’s work and has played a vital role in promoting its initiatives throughout Latin America. This has fostered a strong and productive partnership.

Dr Franco’s achievements, with the LAS-team, include translating key publications, producing subtitles for educational clips, and organising local conferences and symposia, both in-person and online. These accomplishments reflect her dedication and the effectiveness of LAS-ICMSF under her leadership.

Looking ahead, we are confident that this excellent work will continue under the leadership of Dr Francisco Garcés-Vega. Francisco has been actively involved in both LAS-ICMSF and ICMSF and brings energy, experience, and commitment to his new role. We are certain that LAS-ICMSF’s initiatives will thrive with him at the helm, supported by the outstanding team.

We extend our congratulations to Dr Garcés-Vega, our heartfelt thanks to Dr Franco, and our appreciation to the entire LAS-ICMSF team for their remarkable contributions.
