ICMSF Annual Meeting 2024

The members and consultants of the ICMSF convene annually. This year, a physical gathering took place from March 13th to 23rd in Nairobi, Kenya. This assembly coincided with the 54th session of the Codex Alimentarius Committee on Food Hygiene, also hosted in Nairobi from March 11th to 15th.
Notably, this marked the 57th consecutive annual meeting of the Commission.
Substantial headway was achieved during this gathering on the Commission’s latest initiative, Book 9, which discusses approaches to balance the management of food safety in tune with food security and sustainability challenges. Furthermore. Additionally, specialised workshops were conducted for delegates attending CCFH54 (read article) and for various Kenyan governmental bodies responsible for food safety oversight (read article).
The Commission welcomed two esteemed new members, Ellen Evans from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK, and Anett Winkler from Cargill, Germany.
